Handcrafted, cold processed, soap has many benefits over the so called soap bars that are mass produced. In fact, once you have tried handcrafted soap, you may never again use a detergent bar from the grocery. Our handcrafted soap contains well chosen oils to yield a hard bar that lasts awhile and produces good suds. We use organic plant oils including sustainable palm oil and no animal products. Yes, these soaps are completely vegan.
Handcrafted soap naturally contains high amounts of glycerin which helps hold moisture to the skin and fatty acids which help prevent moisture loss from the skin. We also choose oils with additional nutrients such as shea butter which is rich in vitamins A and E. In fact, our soaps are gentle enough to be used on the face. Most contain herbs and flowers from our farm.
Palm oil is an important ingredient in soap. We use sustainable, organic palm oil in our soaps that is sourced from South America. You may have read about the concern in harvesting palm oil from Southeast Asia where orangutan habitat is being destroyed for palm oil plantations. To address this we have both reduced our use of palm oil and we purchase sustainable and organic palm that comes from South America where orangutans are not found. We continue to monitor the situation.
We routinely have Calendula/Oatmeal, Rose Geranium, Lemon/Sage, Rosemary/Mint and Lavender Shea. Our bars are 4 ounces. All soaps are $6.50 each.
