Colorado Aromatics Ribbon Cutting

ribbon cutting

Last Friday (Jan 9) we were excited to celebrate our ribbon cutting ceremony with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce. Even though we had our Grand Opening in September, this was a special time with members of the Chamber of Commerce and just a few friends to be welcomed into the business community.

I’m excited about being a new member of the Chamber of Commerce and being more a part of the Longmont community. Through the Chamber I’ll have opportunities for social networking get-togethers before and after hours and the chamber also has some business groups and training programs.

Our store and production facility is a little out of the way; not in the downtown retail area. We wanted it that way so that we could have more room for production. But none the less, I am always looking for ways to let people know that we are there. I was glad that the Ribbon Cutting brought in people who were not aware of our company or our store. I enjoy getting to explain the nature of our business to people.

Longmont is a great community to live and work in and I am happy to have my business here. I look forward to many years of growth and the ability to help support my community in a number of ways.

Blame it on Hoboken CD Release Party

We are happy to announce our first event at our new store (Following our Grand Opening this week). We are pairing with writer-performer Sharon Glassman to host a house concert that combines beautiful organic scents and original entertainment. Sharon will be reading from her book “Blame it on Hoboken” and singing songs from the book along with Kenny Peralez from Cat Jerky. BLAME IT ON HOBOKEN’s songs range from jazz to blues, bluegrass and indie pop. Sharon’s novel “novel” with songs sets a charming love story in Sinatra’s hometown.

Press Release:

Smell Along with the song!  Colorado Aromatics’s Chemist Cindy Jones and writer-performer Sharon Glassman hosting a house concert that combines beautiful organic scents and original entertainment.

Colorado Aromatics founder Dr. Cindy Jones met Sharon Glassman at the Longmont Farmer’s Market. Jones was there to sell her Colorado Aromatics line or organic skincare products. Glassman, a songwriter who writes charmingly original tunes, was the entertainment.

Flash forward a year:

Jones has just opened her new Colorado Aromatics store on 3rd and Lashley. Glassman was releasing a CD of songs called BLAME IT ON HOBOKEN, featuring a dream team of Colorado musicians. In a creative Aha! moment, the two Longmont women thought: Let’s combine them! The result: a house concert open to the public that pairs Glassman’s live performance of the songs on her new CD with Colorado Aromatics Aromatic Waters and Skin Care.

“Songs tap our emotions through sound,” Jones says. “And scents are powerful emotional enhancing agents, too. I’ll be acting a scent sommelier as Sharon plays – the audience will detect a faint trace of pure lavender during her slower songs, rose during her love songs and peppermint during her more upbeat songs. It’s like Dolby-Sound for your nose!”

“I fell in love with Colorado Aromatics products at first sight – and first sniff,” Glassman says. “The organic lavender line is one of my favorites. But I’m a huge fan of all of their Aromatic Waters or HydroSols. I bring them with me to social events. I spray a little bit on my sleeve to boost my mood, or calm my nerves before a show.”

Colorado Aromatics Store Grand Opening

We outgrew our ‘on the farm’ facility and have recently moved to a larger place in Longmont. We first worked to get our production set up and its been running relatively smoothly for a month. Now we are working on setting up our storefront. Our Grand Opening for the Store will be September 25 from 5-7. We hope you can come and bring a friend. Besides our Colorado Aromatics Cultivated Skin Care that is formulated for the Colorado Lifestyle, we will have a few other gift items such as candles, African Baskets, Salt Lamps, and a collection of Lavender plates and dishes. We also have some great Colorado photography up now by local artist Bruce Shaver. Our hours initially will be from 2:30-5, Monday through Friday, and we’ll be expanding those hours for the Holidays. The store is at 340 Lashley Street, Unit 220. Saturdays you can still find us at the Farmers Market. Thanks to the many customers, volunteers and employees who have helped us get to this point.
